I'm slowly moving to European services. In the beginning it felt like a big rebellious thing but now it's just fun to try to find good solutions.

I mostly try to go for open source solutions and host them myself. I mean, i have enough servers and domains to go round since I've become some kind of hoarder and wanna launch every idea i get.

But Ai man, what a thing it is. Not even sure i like it tbh, its great but also makes me lazy and changes the world in radical ways man, i mean like culture and stuff. Interesting things are happening and i rarely try to get stuck so lets go with it.

I use Claude as my brain in a pocket and i tried Mistral way back and so badly want them to succeed. Then they renamed from Le Chat to Vibe and damn what a blunder imo.

But hey i rarely try to get stuck so i went ahead and gave it another try and honestly its hella solid. But no desktop app... and i have enough tabs open already..

So i vibe coded one, thats what we all do now days right? solve our own minor problems quickly. I took inspiration from an open source project using Tauri, but i wanted to understand the code so i made it in electrobun instead, full Typescript yo. It's just a desktop wrapper around the web ui, basically a dumb browser.

But i ofc had to add some settings that fiddle with the HTML. You can rename it and change the logo. So now i got Le Chat and the pixelated cat. Good vibes.

All was swell, felt great and now its my daily driver. I ask it about all kinds of dumb stuff but i still keep my claude code subscription for the claude code cli, but who knows one day i might switch it too.

While using it i noticed a thing about myself tho, sometimes i wouldn't trust it. I'd paste a big ol' debug log and it'll say to do whatever and i doubted it and asked Claude instead but in the end Claude just said the same thing. So i should just trust this blindly too right? No, i should embrace this feeling and not just trust AI wholeheartedly. Hallucinations might sneak up on you at any time and you don't wanna get caught slippin' brotha.

It's fully open source, so you can check it out here
